Ruthie with Arizona Oriental here in Prescott, AZ once again and I wanted to take some time today and share one of the excellent repairs that we provided for one of our clients. This beautiful, fine Persian rug was in our client’s home for a number of years but then she noticed that her dog had been chewing on the side and took a pretty sizeable chunk out of it!
Our client was worried about the integrity of the rug because it had already started to show some unravelling where the missing fibers were at. She wanted to continue to be able to enjoy her beautiful rug for many more years. Could anything be done to fix it?
We took her rug to the experts in our repair shop and they performed what is called a “patch” fix. They took a small piece of a donor rug that looked very similar to the original rug and sewn into the damaged area of the rug. Once this was done, they used special dye markers to blend the new piece into the original and help to hide the differences between them.
Not only did we think this repair was spot on, but it was also a much cheaper alternative to completely rebuilding that part of the rug! Our client was also incredibly happy with how the repair was completed and how beautiful her rug looked again.
