Clean Your Rug After Holiday Celebrations in Prescott, AZ

When you have a home full of guests, it does not take too long for your rugs to suffer. Independence Day can be one occasion where there are family celebrations, and the odd spilled drink or food dropped.

Hi, it is Ruthie with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care, and here in Prescott, it is close to July 4, and we expect those calls for rugs to be cleaned.

After all the fun, it is time to look toward keeping your rug safe from any accident or accumulation of dirt.

During this time of year at Arizona Oriental, it is not rare and gets a call from such a distressed rug-owner claiming that their out-of-town visitors ushered in pets, children, or another way that their favorite rug came out worse. Luckily, there is one Prescott area rug cleaning professional who is there to help.

Monitor Visiting Pets

Because of the elevated level of excitement, pets will need to be exercised more regularly than when they are at home. Please remember in mind, however, that animals have a natural desire to mark their territory.

It is not rare for them to pee in unfamiliar places in the same setting. Your area rug’s rich, fluffy surface is the perfect place for an accident.

Keep animals away from your rug as much as possible!

Because as they say, prevention is better than cure.

Here are a few measures you can implement if you have an experience with a visiting animal:

  1. Thoughtfully remove all solids which may be around, trying not to make any spots larger.
  2. Blot as much fluid as you can. Position a pile of white paper towels or white rags above wet spots and stand on them. If possible, place some underneath the spot.
  3. This should help to transfer the liquid to the towels from your area rug. Repeat with as many dry towels as is needed to remove all the liquid.

If you spill any liquids or drinks, you can follow these steps. If the drink has the potential to stain, you will need to contact a rug cleaner in Prescott Valley. If the dye is not set correctly, some unstable rugs and only have water can cause the dye to move. To deal with this, you will need to hire a professional rug cleaner.

One last way to protect your rug when you are anxious regarding visiting pets would be to roll up your rugs to keep them out of sight. The pets do not have exposure to your precious rugs in the above way, and you do not have to think about it!
