How to Prevent Premature Wear in Your Area Rug – Prescott Valley AZ
Ruthie here with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care in Prescott AZ here and I wanted to talk about something that we see a lot here at our shop – uneven wear and tear! This wear and tear unfortunately can’t be cleaned out of area rugs because the fibers have simply worn away. While the fibers in other parts of the rug are still fully intact, fibers in wear areas are worn and may even be missing.
How can you prevent premature wear in your area rug? Simple! Turn your rug 180 degrees periodically. This way the everyday traffic pattern will be more evenly distributed throughout your rug. What do I mean when I say it should be done periodically? Usually I tell my clients that they should rotate their rug every 6 months.
Spring cleaning is a really great time to rotate your rug because you’re already moving things to clean under them – why not move your area rug, too? Another ideal time is when you have Arizona Oriental take your rug back to our washing facility for a deep cleaning. When we return with your rug, we can assist in turning and repositioning the rug.
