There are a lot of dirty rugs that come into us here at Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care, some obviously more soiled than others.  Depending on how recently the rug was cleaned (if at all) and how old the rug is, the level of soil on each rug can differ.  The level of activity in the home and where the rug is located also play important parts in the level of soil in an area rug.

We know how life has a bad habit of getting away from us.  Sometimes it isn’t always easy to get your rug professionally cleaned.  It gets put on the backburner in favor of other, seemingly more important things in our homes.  But rugs live hard lives on our floors and take a licking from foot traffic of adults, kids, and pets alike.  Then there are the spills that happen over time and sometimes even animal urine accidents.  All of this over time gets rugs really soiled!

If your rug is heavily soiled, that must mean you should just replace it, right?  WRONG!  Take a look at this lovely rug that recently came into us – as you can see, it was quite soiled.  This rug had both regular every day soil and animal urine accidents aplenty.  And to top it all off, this rug is made from a type of faux silk fiber known as “mercerized cotton,” which seems to attract soil like crazy and is notorious for its low performance.

Our client found this little rug at an estate sale and fell in love with the colors and design in the rug.  She hoped that we would be able to get the rug at least a little cleaner so that she could use it in her own home.  We weren’t sure how well this rug would clean up – after what looks like years of soil build up and animal urine accidents, there wasn’t much hope left.

But take a look at the after photo here!  We thoroughly washed the rug and treated the urine deposits in the rug and WOW!  WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!  Our client fell in love with the rug all over again and was so happy with how bright the colors were after the soil was removed.
