Here’s an example of a repair here at Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care we were able to offer a client whose puppy had a little too much time on his paws and not quite enough supervision. That’s right, this client’s dog found himself a snack in rug form and chewed right along the side of the area rug. This type of repair that we completed is called a “patch” repair. A close match to the rug (not exact, of course) and patched into the rug, making it look much nicer than that chewed up look it had before.
Our client was looking for an affordable fix, but this wasn’t the only option that we were able to offer them. The best option we were able to offer was to reweave the damaged area. This is obviously extremely labor intensive and the cost to do a complete restoration wasn’t quite within her budget. Patching, however, worked out perfectly! The rug is no longer an eyesore and my client is more than happy with the patch.
