Prescott Valley Rug Cleaner. Care For Your Flat Weave Rugs

Arizona is a beautiful state with plenty of opportunities to get out and explore. However, you may not realize that we track in all the dust and dry soil that we have collected outside when we return home. Your area rugs gather that dry soil, which is fantastic for the rest of your house but not so good for your rug.

Prescott Valley Rug Cleaner. Care For Your Flat Weave Rugs

Hi, folks! I’m Ruthie with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care.

Staying proactive about removing dry soil from your carpets will help you avoid causing a lot of damage to your rugs, hence why Arizona Oriental has so many requests for help.

It’s simple to see why flat weave carpets from American Indian tribes, Mexico, and Iran are so popular: they’re stunning!

Unfortunately, the harm caused by dry soil ground into rugs falls disproportionately on these rugs—abrasive dry soil damages these sensitive fibers far more easily than rugs with a thicker pile.

How Prescott Valley Rug Cleaner Advises to Care For Rugs?

What vacuum should I use on a flat weave area rug? I usually recommend using a canister vacuum or an electric sweeper on flat weave area rugs. Two better makes are Bissel or Shark.

This will offer sufficient suction to extract the dry soil from your rug while remaining gentle on the fragile fibers. An upright vacuum with a beater bar should never be used. The beater bar is excessively rough on your delicate flat weave, causing extra wear and tear.

Vacuum across the breadth of the rug, moving from side to side, taking care not to damage the fringe or side cords. Use the upholstery tool or a soft brush attachment if you have a smaller rug and want more control over the vacuuming operation.

Keep in mind that vacuuming alone will not extend the life of your rug! Depending on the level of activity in your house, you should have your rugs cleaned by a professional rug cleaner like Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care in Prescott every 1-3 years to keep them looking their best.

Where To Get Help From Prescott Valley Rug Cleaning Expert?

It’s critical not to allow dry soil to accumulate on your rugs. If your area rug appears to be heavily dirty, it certainly suffers from permanent fabric damage.

Enjoy your gorgeous floor art until next time and remember that a clean rug can last a lifetime!
