The Best Tip Ever for Preventing Premature Wear on Your Area Rugs – Sedona AZ
Hi folks! Ruthie with Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care here and I wanted to talk about something that happens a lot to area rugs that come into our shop: uneven wear and tear! This unfortunate condition cannot be cleaned out of area rugs because the fibers in wear and traffic areas are worn away and may even be missing.
What’s the best way to prevent premature wear and tear in your area rugs? Easy! Simply turn your rug 180 degrees periodically. By doing this, you’ll be distributing the everyday traffic pattern(s) more evenly throughout the rug so it isn’t concentrated in the same area all the time. Typically, this rotation should happen about every 6 months.
The best time to do this is with your spring or summer cleaning, when you already have your furniture moved out of the way anyway. Another good time for this rotation to happen is when Arizona Oriental picks up your rug and brings it to our washing facility. Once your rug is cleaned and we return it home to you, we can assist in turning and repositioning your rug for you, making it super easy!
