Here at Arizona Oriental & Specialty Rug Care, we see a lot of dirty rugs come into us. Some of those rugs are more soiled than others, of course. It just depends on how recently the rug was last cleaned (if it’s been cleaned at all) and how old the rug is. Of course the level of activity in the home and where the rug is located also have important roles in how soiled a rug is.
Life also has a bad habit of getting away from us and sometimes it isn’t always easy to get your rug cleaned. It’s one of those things that gets put on the backburner in favor of other, seemingly more important things. Our area rugs aren’t always at the forefront of our minds. Rugs live hard lives on our floor, getting pounded on by foot traffic from adults, kids, and pets alike. Not to mention the spills that happen over time or the occasional animal urine accident. All of this can get rugs really soiled!
But just because your rug is heavily soiled doesn’t mean it’s “too bad” to clean! Take a look at the lovely little rug above that recently came into us – as you can see, it was quite soiled. Not just from day-to-day traffic but there were also some animal urine accidents as well. To top it off, this rug is made out of a faux silk fiber called “mercerized cotton” which has notoriously low performance and attracts soil like crazy.
Our client purchased this rug from an estate sale and fell in love with the colors and design in the rug. Her hope was that we would be able to get the rug clean enough for her to be able to use in her home. Take a look at the after photo to the right to see what the rug looked like after we thoroughly washed it and treated it for the urine deposits in the rug. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Our client fell in love with the rug all over again and was so happy with how bright the colors were after we removed all the soil.
